Stories of Interest from the Hickman Courier from July 14, 1876 The first cotton bloom of the season in Fulton County was credited to Sassafras Ridge on July 1st. The crops in the “bottoms” south of Hickman were noted to have “never looked better for years” and Madrid Bend did not have enough farm workers to harvest crops. Eliphater Case constructed a sidewalk at his own expense before his property in Hickman. Fulton County Court was scheduled to meet on July 17th. S.
