    New Videos Now Available to Stream Online

    Three presentations made to the Jackson Purchase Historical Society earlier this year are now available to view online. The first is Historical Overview of Wickliffe Mounds: A Talk Given by Carla Hildebrand which was presented on May 21, 2022 at the Wickliffe Mounds State Historical Site. Ms. Hildebrand discussed the occupation of the site by the Mississippian culture of Native Americans, the American Revolution, the Lewis and Clark expedition, the Trail of Tears, and the development of the historic site as a tourist attraction in the 20th century.     Erik Nordberg to Discuss the History of Ball Clay Mining at the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center

    The Jackson Purchase Historical Society (JPHS) will meet on Saturday September 10 at 10:30 am at the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center, 614 N. Poplar Street, Paris, Tennessee. Our speaker will be Erik Nordberg who will share his research into the history of ball clay mining in west Tennessee and the Jackson Purchase region.  Those attending should comply with current state and local public health guidelines for gatherings.
