    Jackson Purchase Historical Society to Meet in Clinton on October 22

    The Jackson Purchase Historical Society will meet at 10:30 am on October 22 at the Hickman County Historical and Genealogical Society on the Court Square (107 S. Washington Street) , Clinton, Kentucky. The program will feature a panel discussion by those involved in writing and producing the Hickman County Bicentennial book and planning the other events that celebrated this milestone. The meeting will NOT be available by ZOOM due to unavailability of a stable Wi-Fi signal.     Kentucky Historical Society Plans to Celebrate United States 250th Anniversary

    In 2026 the United States celebrates its 250th birthday. To commemorate this sestercentennial anniversary, the Kentucky Historical Society seeks input from citizens, historians, cultural workers, and institutions statewide about what they would like to see during this commemoration. While the bicentennial in 1976 was largely focused on celebrating the founding of the U.S.A., the 250th will reflect on where we have come and how we have grown over the last 250 years.
