    Roy Hensel Examines Ulysses S. Grant’s General Order to Expel Jews from West Kentucky

    The Jackson Purchase Historical Society will meet at Temple Israel, 330 Joe Clifton Drive in Paducah at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 17. The program will focus on General U. S. Grant’s General Order expelling Jews from the territory under his command. The program is free and all who are interested are welcome to attend. Unfortunately, the program will not be available via ZOOM but will be recorded and posted on the JPHS website in the near future.     Bob Jost to Speak on the Trail of Tears at the Inland Waterways Museum on July 20th

    The Jackson Purchase Historical Society will meet at the Inland Waterways Museum as part of their joint History on the River occasional series of programs on July 20. The meeting will begin at 10:30 am at the Museum at 117 South Water Street in Paducah. The program will be presented by Bob Jost who will discuss his extensive research on the Trail of Tears, especially the Water Route, which went down the Tennessee River and then west on the Ohio.
