    Mulligan to Speak at Jackson Purchase Historical Society Meeting on Columbus, Kentucky during the Civil War

    Due to the continuing public health situation, the Jackson Purchase Historical Society will hold its September meeting by zoom rather than in person. The program will be held September 19, a Saturday, beginning at 10:30 AM. In addition to the presentation there will be time for questions and discussion after the presentation. The program will focus on Chauncey H. Cooke, who enlisted in the Union Army at age 16 and found himself in Columbus, Kentucky.     2020 Journal

    The Jackson Purchase Historical Society is pleased to announce the publication of Volume 47 of its Journal. The society was founded in 1958. During the last sixty years, it has played a crucial role in the life of the Jackson Purchase region due to the diligent efforts of its members to preserve the area’s past. The Journal of the Jackson Purchase Historical Society continues to be the primary channel through which knowledge of the Jackson Purchase is disseminated.
