The JPHS will meet on Saturday, November 3rd in the historic Reelfoot Lake area. At 10:30 am, members and guests will meet in the Ellington Auditorium in the Visitor Center at Reelfoot Lake State Park located at 2595 Hwy 21 E in Tiptonville, Tennessee. Speaking will be David G. Hayes of Union City, Tennessee, who has written an early history of the people and places of western Obion and present day Lake County, entitled The Historic Reelfoot Lake Region. Hayes is a Senior Judge on the Tennessee State Court of Criminal Appeals and a life-long student of the history of the Reelfoot Lake area. After the meeting concludes, lunch (on your own) can be obtained in several places nearby before a special opportunity – a boat tour of Reelfoot Lake! At 1:30 pm, weather permitting, a tour of Reelfoot Lake by boat will take place. Reservations for this tour are required and should be made by emailing JPHS President Bill Mulligan at billmulligan@murray-ky.net. The boat tour will take approximately 90 minutes.
