The next meeting of the Jackson Purchase Historical Society will take place at the Hickman County Historical and Genealogical Society on the Court Square (141 S Washington St) in Clinton, Kentucky on September 22nd, starting at 10:30 am. The meeting is free and open to the public. The speaker will be JPHS’ own William H. (Bill) Mulligan, Jr., the current JPHS president. Mulligan is a professor of history at Murray State University. His topic is “Modernizing Warfare: US Grant and Military Engineering in the Middle Mississippi Valley during the Civil War.”
